Oh…my…goodness...today has to be one the most pivotal and amazing days of my entire life. Things can certainly only get better from this point on out. I received a phone call today, and the caller ID said "Regent..." I knew then that it was Regent University, a highly exclusive private Christian college and one of the few in my area that has an animation/graphic arts program. After I took my SAT, that university had been sending me mail, as did a plethora of other colleges. I never really paid it any attention until I got one particular letter.

"Dear Rin,
Due to your academic achievements, we have decided to waive the application fee should you choose to consider our university. Please go to the link below and complete the free online application..." or something to that extent, it read.

I was very thankful to be given such a great opportunity. After all, the typical college application can cost anywhere from $50 to $200, sometimes more I filled out the application maybe a month or so ago, and received periodical phone calls from the admissions advisor concerning additional paperwork I had to mail to the school before a decision could be made.

Then today came. I picked up the phone and answered in a half-muttering voice, trying my best to sound professional.

"Hello? May I speak to..(the adviser uttered my full name)"

"T-this is she," I said, rather clumsily, if I might add.

“Oh! Yes, well, this is so-and-so from the admissions office here at Regent University calling to inform you about your recent acceptance!"

"A-acceptance?! Really?!"

"You didn't get our letter?"

"Why no! But this is great! I have to call someone!"

We talked about ten minutes longer about when she would call again to arrange my classes, and about how I could come stay on campus for free several months from now. I'm just so happy right now! I can't believe it! I also got a letter prior to this call from them stating that I'm eligible for their merit scholarship too. If all works out, I won't have to pay a dime for college at all! I just can’t believe this!
